Dept. 56 Original Snow Village
Everything you ever wanted from the Original Snow Village! This is the grand-daddy of Christmas Villages, created in 1976 by Department 56. It is the largest collection in the D56 series, built with the same traditions and values found in small towns across America. Every year, the shops and neighborhoods of Main Street, U.S.A. continue to prosper and grow. Unlike the other D56 Villages, these pieces are made of ceramic and not porcelain. This village contains the largest number of brand-name pieces like Coca-Cola, Harley Davidson, Chevrolet, NASCAR. Truly Americana in ceramic!
This village has quite a different look than the other villages. The major difference is that the pieces are ceramic rather than porcelain like the other villages. It produces a solid piece that light can't penetrate so the pieces don't glow like the porcelain does when light shines through. Nontheless, this village still shines plenty bright with its huge variety of commercial establishments, homes, downtown shops and wonderful accessories.
The Dept. 56 Halloween Village is considered part of the Snow Village series (for now!).
