Dec. ‘07 Retirements
Each November Department 56 announces the village pieces and accessories that are “retiring” - meaning that the molds will be broken and these pieces will no longer be produced. This often presents a great buying opportunity afterwards, as the major D56 dealers will usually discount these pieces because they need to make room for the new inventory that will be coming out. Many of these dealers sell on eBay as it is a great way to reduce inventory. Keep your eyes peeled for bargains for TRULY mint-in-box pieces to add to your collection! But don’t be too hasty to buy - remember, there’s a lot of product out there and you don’t want to rush in and pay any more than you have to.
